DOC want to know how you feel about our biodiversity – what it means to you, why it matters, and what you want them to achieve in the future. Once they understand this, they’ll have a better idea about the direction a new Strategy should take. They’re engaging with Treaty Partners and working with reference groups who have expertise in Te Ao Māori worldviews, science, conservation and industry.
DOC will gather your thoughts into a discussion document, which in April/May 2019 will be available for you to make sure your views were reflected and make a formal submission.
By December 2019, a new Biodiversity Strategy will be complete.
