Hula hoops
Scampi - I looked up scampi to buy in NZ and could not believe the price!
Gammon - haven't ever seen it here, even on a menu.
but mainly hula hoops.

I used to love putting hula hoops on the ends of my fingers then eating them one by one....unfortunately I can no longer fit them on my adult hands!!
Also loved Smokey Bacon crisps....and yes they are crisps not 'chippies' in my house.

There are no animal products in British Marmite but there is in Bovril. I still think it is head and shoulders above the antipodean equivalents of Vegemite and Marmite and I always have it in the house.

When my mother emigrated to UK in late 1950s she thought it was chocolate spread and liberally put it on her bread ha ha! she hasn't touched it since.

Actually I dont think it is a beef extract anymore. I was looking for my jar, but I cannot find it, but I am darned sure the last time I looked on the label after a discussion on another forum, it said, yeast extract also.

I used to do the same with hula hoops, though I can't say I miss them.

Sanatoriums were where they put people who were terminally ill with TB in years gone by. Sanitarium on the other hand is the health and wellbeing company which manufactures good food. It was founded in Melbourne in 1898 and is owned by the Seventh Day Adventist organization.
Marmite made by them is a yeast extract.

Did you know, that what you thought I said, was not what I meant :S
