Goat, lots of goat! :D

Trying to clear some space in the freezer for 3 Romneys I've had home killed by our local guy.

Chops on Saturday marinaded in garlic infused oil and rosemary.

Roast goat legs on Sunday marinaded in yoghurt with spices

Shepherds Pie of roast goat legs on Monday & Tuesday. I put pesto and other herbs in the gravy as well as tarting up the mash with herbs and cheese. It was delicious! Still have some in the freezer for next week....... [8D]

now the fire ban is lifted, we can fire up the pizza oven, yay!

Strangely, we don't make a lot of pizzas in it, but use it as a slow cooker. Ox cheek, shin beef, duck all come out so succulent. Just a small amount of rubbish wood does the trick, nothing treated of course, light the fire, let it burn for a while, push embers to one side, put in the casserole pot and close the door.

Enjoying the rain though!

I am eyeing up one of my kune kune's to have a go at making sausages.

Anyone had any experience with the process, what gear to use for example?

5 acres, Ferguson 35X and implements, Hanmay pto shredder, BMW Z3, Countax ride on mower, chooks, Dorper and Wiltshire sheep. Bosky wood burning central heating stove and radiators. Retro caravan. Growing our own food and preserving it. Small vineyard, crap wine. :)

Lamb heart stir fry with Cumin and LaoGanMa fermented black bean in chili sauce condiments, sides of roast kumara and pumpkin.

The stir fry is pretty simple, one lambs heart per person (just me so 1) sliced, makes a large handful, fried with oil, cumin mixed herbs and the chinese condiment. PAMS oriental stir fry frozen mixed veges, half again as much as the meat, just tipped in once the meat is cooked and allowed to heat up, doesn't take long to cook at all.
The roast pumpkin and kumara were the longest to do, I'm sure I don't need to explain how they were done :D

Currently enjoying a cup of mystery tea that came with a new pot, I THINK it is an oolong from the colour and taste.

Tonight Terry is having leftover (from last night) beef stew on home made bread toasted...and I am feeling like eggs of some description ...Terry has to have meat (or chicken or fish) every night but I like to have easy tea without meat sometimes[^]

We're having leftovers ha ha - a hunter friend gave us a slab of venison rump which we ate as steaks the other day with dauphinoise potatoes (yuuuuummmmyyyy). We only cooked half the rump and made a whole dish of potatoes so just a quick slice and cook of the steaks and just heating the taties up tonight. Had the original with brussels sprouts, carrots and broccoli but tonight a bit hard basket so just peas.
