A death in the family

Little Nasty was hatched in Palmerston North in 2004, started laying about May of 2005 and layed right up until her 11th year.
She was a lovely lavender Araucana crossed with some sort of bantam and was my most faithful little chook for rearing chicks. I could put any day old under her and she would rear them for 6 weeks precisely, before driving them out to work for their own keep.
She tolerated no nonsense, hence the name.
She crossed the rainbow bridge during the night after a rapid decline. She was almost 12 years old. I have had hens live longer, but seldom were they as well regarded as Lil' Nasty

Did you know, that what you thought I said, was not what I meant :S
