OK, I had a tin jar, color: red and gold?
It was bought in OZ (thru TM) It was a old product that I have been told had been forever and ever.
Some kind of lotion/ointment/rub,,bee sting, small bruces and wounds, good for everything.

Can't find my tin jar and have totally forgotten the name of the product.
Was it a story about a old man that travelled thru OZ and sold this product?

Sounds like Rawleigh's. It was in a tin. Might also have been Tiger's balm, but that mostly in a hexagonal jar.

I'm thinking Rawleighs too, the mustard coloured tin on the left. Supposed to cure everything including piles! Don't know about that but have both tins and have to admit, find it extremely good stuff.

Cheers,
Ronnie

You can still get it in NZ. There are various sales people/agents for these products.

Are you thinking of the old Australian Emu Oil product? It was used for everything... still is...

There was also a snake oil multi purpose use in Australia

Thought it must have been Rawleighs...

Speaking of tins and OTT, when I was kid Mum always had germoline from the UK in a round tin, probably slightly smaller than the Rawleighs ones, and that was applied to nearly everything. I asked a relo a few years back to bring me some germoline from the Uk and was disappointed to find both the container and recipe had changed.

Haha Germoline was a staple in our first aid box when I was growing up in a small country town in Suffolk.. It contained 4 things - Milk of Magnesia, Germoline, Gentian Violet, and a packet of plasters. That covered all the hurts of 7 children! Actually I remember Zambuc as well!
