I'm from the UK, lived here a couple years and I was really hoping to rent a few acres. In the UK this is quite easy, many farmers sell the grass for a year which is great for keeping extra sheep or store cattle, or for crops. I just haven't found a site anywhere that caters to this, can anyone help? I'm looking for a few acres in the middle of North Island. Any links or tips would be much appreciated as I'm not in the market for $300k of land which seems the only other alternative - buy big!

From my experience and as a generalisation, people with land to lease tend to ask people that they know want to graze their property. Over the years we have leased eleven properties, but we have had to tell the land owners that we do this. Ask at Farmlands if they know of anyone who would lease a few hectares, then introduce yourself to every LSB owner that looks as though they are having a problem managing their land.
